What is MAP packaging
Modified atmosphere packaging has a long history as a food packaging technology. As early as the 1930s, Europe and the United States have begun to study the use of carbon dioxide gas to preserve meat products; in the 1950s, nitrogen and carbon dioxide gas were used to replace the air beef and cheese cans. The mixed gas has effectively extended the shelf life; in the 1960s, due to the development of various plastic packaging materials, many foods such as meat, fruits, vegetables, cakes, tea and dairy products have successfully adopted gas replacement packaging technology; In the 1970 Inflatable packaging of fresh meat has been widely used in Europe and the United States, and since then, modified atmosphere packaging has developed vigorously throughout the world.
Scope of application: modified atmosphere packaging can be widely used for packaging of fresh food such as meat, poultry, fish, fruits and vegetables, cooked meat products, bread and pastries and other baked goods. Modified atmosphere packaged foods have been more and more recognized by food processing manufacturers and consumers because they maintain the original taste, color, shape and nutrition of the food, and at the same time, they can achieve a longer shelf life. In the European and American markets, foods in modified atmosphere packaging have developed rapidly, with an annual growth rate of up to 25%. The total volume of modified atmosphere packaging products has exceeded 5 billion boxes per year.
